Enjoy Flexibility

You are your own boss!!

  • Set yourself up at home if you have a space large enough to set up some keyboards – a spare room, a living area, a lounge room, rent a room – ask the local primary school or Club
  • Lessons will work with any number of students but the more students you have the more you earn
  • You decide:
    • How many students you'd like to work with, eg. 1, 4, 8, 10, more?
    • The lesson fee/student $10 -$12 - $15 -$? (see suggestions below).
    • The length of the lessons 30/40/? minutes.
    • The number of classes you wish to run per day/week.
  • No additional lesson preparation: all the lesson plans are complete but flexible enough for you to infuse your own personality
  • Possibility of using a mix of keyboards and chromatic glockenspiels if preferred (this works very well)
Easy Fee Management
  • Parents pay by the term – 10 lessons- at the beginning of the term.
  • Parents pay the Book Fee for the Students Books and Woody Bag.
  • Teacher pays the annual Licensing Agreement fees to Woody's Music Education Administration before lessons commence.
  • Teacher signs the Licensing Agreement documentation before lessons can commence.
  • Teacher forwards the Book Fee to Woody's Music Education Administration – books and bags will be forwarded on receipt of payment.

Additional Information

The potential income for an individual teacher is totally an individual decision:

  • you could do 1 class a day or 1 class a week, or
  • you could do 2/3/4 classes a day or 2/3/4/classes a week.

At one 30 minute class per day teaching 5 days a week with 10 students at $15 for 1 term – 10 weeks for 4 terms means $30,000 annual gross income – this is only one example.

Ideas for Venues
  • Many primary schools have a suitable space that could be rented for a few hours a week and most probably already have some keyboards and percussion – it's worth asking
    • Primary schools are always looking for extra funds so they could turn a spare space into some income
    • Suggest paying $1 per student per class for rent of the space
    • Maybe ask to use the music room when it is free
    • Lessons could be during school time and students come out of their normal classes
    • Lessons could be before school, after school or at lunch times or even weekends
  • Other possible venues: the local hall, local Church, local Community Centre or local Club
